Bepansept 5mg/g cream, 30 g, Bayer

Bepansept cream is used for:

• superficial lesions of any type that pose a risk of infection: scratches, cuts, cracks, lacerations, burns, skin ulcers, dermatitis;
• chronic injuries such as lower limb or pressure ulcers;
• skin infections such as secondarily infected eczema and neurodermatitis;
• treatment of nipple cracks in breastfeeding women;
• minor surgical interventions: surgical wounds and injuries

Bepansept contains dexpanthenol and chlorhexidine as active substances. Dexpanthenol is rapidly transformed by dermal cells into pantothenic acid, which plays an important role in the formation and regeneration of the skin. Chlorhexidine is an effective antiseptic against bacteria present on the entire surface of the skin, preventing their multiplication.

Method of administration:

The cream is applied in a thin layer, one or more times a day, by gentle massage, to cleaned wounds or inflamed skin areas. Application to large areas should be avoided. Treatment of nipple cracks in nursing mothers: the cream is applied to the nipples after each breastfeeding and local toilet.

Always use Bepansept exactly as your doctor has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Precautions:

Do not use Bepansept:

• if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to dexpanthenol or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6 of the medicine leaflet);
• on the perforated eardrum.

You should see a doctor if your symptoms worsen or do not improve after 5 days of treatment with Bepansept cream. Bepansept cream should not be used to treat skin irritations that do not pose a risk of infection (e.g. sunburn). In case of sunburn, the use of Bepanthen cream is recommended. Contact with eyes, ears and mucous membranes should be avoided.

Bepansept can be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding only on the recommendation of a doctor. This is a medicine that is available without a prescription. Always read the package leaflet before use. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have any questions.
