The active ingredient in GLIMBAX is diclofenac, a substance with a pronounced anti-inflammatory and pain-relieving effect.

Since the medicine is applied directly to the inflamed and painful tissue, the symptoms subside and relief occurs after a short period of time. The medicine is effective in treating inflammations in the oral cavity and throat and is well tolerated.

GLIMBAX is indicated for the treatment of inflammatory manifestations in the oral cavity and throat (such as nasopharyngitis, gingivitis, inflammation of the oral mucosa). It is also used as a supportive treatment after dental treatment and after surgical procedures in the oral cavity and throat.

Dosage

Adults : The recommended dose is 2 to 3 mouthwashes or gargles using 15 ml of undiluted solution per day (corresponding to the filled measuring cup provided).

If the patient does not feel better within 7 days or feels worse, he or she should consult a doctor.

Use

The dose can be diluted with a small amount of water. Do not eat or drink for about 30 minutes after application. Do not use for self-treatment for more than 3 days.

Adverse effects

Like all medicines, this medicine can cause side effects, although not everybody gets them.

Side effects that may occur with GLIMBAX are:

Common (may affect more than 1 in 100 people): throat irritation.

Uncommon (may affect up to 1 in 100 people): cough, nausea, vomiting, inflammation of the oral mucosa, constipation, sore tongue.

Not known (frequency cannot be estimated from the available data): headache, burning sensation in the mouth, indigestion.

Warning

During pregnancy and lactation, women should only use the medicine if clearly needed, under the supervision of a doctor. The use of the medicine may impair fertility in women and is not recommended in women trying to conceive. Safety and efficacy in children and adolescents under 18 years of age have not yet been established.

The drug may cause sensitization, especially with prolonged administration. In case of hypersensitivity, treatment should be discontinued and appropriate treatment should be initiated if necessary. Accidental ingestion of 1 dose of the solution is not harmful to the patient's health. The drug contains sorbitol. The shelf life after the first opening of the bottle is 12 months.
