Iberogast Balance oral drops, 2x50 ml, Bayer

Indications:

Iberogast Balance is a herbal medicine for the treatment of functional dyspepsia with main symptoms such as: stomach pain, burning in the upper abdomen, feeling of fullness after eating and early satiety, but often accompanied by loss of appetite, excessive belching and a burning sensation in the chest.
Iberogast Balance is indicated for adults over 18 years of age.

Contraindications:

Do not use Iberogast Balance:
- if you are allergic to any of the active substances (Iberis amara, chamomile flower, caraway fruit, lemon balm leaves, mint leaves or licorice root) or to any other plants in the Apiaceae or Asteraceae family.

Precautions:

Ask your doctor or pharmacist before using Iberogast Balance.
Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
There is not enough data available regarding the use of Iberogast Balance in pregnant women.
As a precautionary measure, it is preferable to avoid using Iberogast Balance during pregnancy.
There is insufficient information on the excretion of the active ingredients of Iberogast Balance or
its metabolites in human milk.
A risk to the infant cannot be excluded.
Driving and using machines:
Iberogast Balance has no or negligible influence on the ability to drive and use machines.
Iberogast Balance contains ethanol (ethyl alcohol)
This medicine contains 240 mg of alcohol (ethanol) in 20 drops.
The amount of alcohol in one dose (20 drops/1 ml) of this medicine is equivalent to less than 7 ml of beer or 3 ml of wine.
The small amount of alcohol in this medicine will not have any noticeable effects.

Method of administration:

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
The recommended dose is:
Adults over 18 years of age: 20 drops 3 times a day.
To be taken with a little liquid, before or during meals.
Oral administration.
Shake the bottle before use!

Composition:

The active substances are:
1 ml contains:
0.15 ml liquid extract of Iberis amara (fresh whole plant) (Iberis amara, planta tota recens) (1 : 1.5 –
2.5), extraction solvent ethanol 50% (v/v);
0.30 ml liquid extract of Chamomile flowers (Matricaria recutica flos) (1:2 - 4), ethanol extraction solvent
30% (v/v);
0.20 ml liquid extract of Caraway Fruit (Carum carvi, fructus) (1:2.5 – 3.5), ethanol extraction solvent
30% (v/v);
0.15 ml liquid extract of Lemon Balm leaves (Melissa officinalis, folium) (1:2.5 – 3.5), extraction solvent
ethanol 30% (v/v);
0.10 ml liquid extract of Peppermint leaves (Mentha piperita, folium) (1:2.5 – 3.5), extraction solvent
ethanol 30% (v/v);
0.10 ml liquid extract of Licorice Root (Glycyrrhiza species, radix) (1:2.5 – 3.5), solvent
ethanol extraction 30% (v/v);
Total ethanol content: 31% (v/v)
1 ml = 20 drops
