Description
Kitonail 80 mg/g, 3.3 ml, Angelini
Indications:
Kitonail 80 mg/g nail polish is an effective medicine against a large number of fungi (broad-spectrum antifungal medicine) for local use on the nails of the hands and feet, as well as on the skin in the immediate vicinity.
It is used to treat mild to moderate fungal infections of the nails (onychomycosis), caused by filamentous fungi and/or other fungi that can be treated with ciclopirox.
The active substance, ciclopirox, prevents the growth of fungi and destroys them. This improves the appearance of your nails.
Composition:
- The active substance is ciclopirox. One gram of medicated nail polish contains 80 mg of ciclopirox.
- The other ingredients are: ethyl acetate, ethyl alcohol (96%), cetostearyl alcohol, hydroxypropyl chitosan and purified water.
Method of administration:
Always use Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish exactly as your doctor has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Cutaneous administration (for use on nails and the immediately surrounding skin only).
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish is for adults only.
Unless otherwise prescribed by your doctor, Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail varnish is applied in a thin layer once a day to the infected nail or nails. For this, the nails must be clean and dry. The medicated nail varnish should be applied to the entire surface of the nail and to 5 mm of the surrounding skin. If possible, Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail varnish should also be applied under the free edge of the nail.
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish is allowed to dry for approximately 30 seconds.
Nails should not be washed for at least 6 hours after application, therefore, it is recommended to apply in the evening, before going to bed. After this period of time, normal nail care practices can be followed.
hygiene.
Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish does not require removal with solvents or abrasive materials (e.g. nail file); washing the nails with water is sufficient. Sometimes after a few days of treatment, due to improper washing of the nail, a thin, white film may appear on its surface. To remove it, careful washing with neutral soap or a nail brush or sponge is necessary. In case of unintentional removal by washing, Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish can be applied again. It is recommended to periodically remove the loose parts of the infected nails, for example by cutting them.
Treatment should be continued until the disease has disappeared, which means until other healthy nails have grown back, transparent or almost transparent. Normally, complete healing of fingernails is achieved in about 6 months, and of toenails in about 9 to 12 months.
Contraindications:
Do not use Kitonail 80 mg/g medicated nail polish:
