Meteospasmyl is a medicine for functional intestinal disorders.

Meteospasmyl is indicated in adults for:

• Improvement of gastrointestinal symptoms, induced by excessive accumulation of gases in the intestine, for example, flatulence
• Symptoms determined by the accumulation of gases in the gastrointestinal tract can be a sign of functional disorders at this level, manifesting as pressure or bloating, fullness, eructation, intestinal peristaltic movements and flatulence.

Composition:

• The active substances are: alverine citrate and simethicone
• Each soft capsule contains 60 mg alverine citrate and 300 mg simethicone
• The other ingredients are: gelatin, glycerol, titanium dioxide (E171), purified water.

How to use: 

• Always take this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure
• Adults: one capsule 2-3 times a day, before meals
• If you have any further questions on the use of this medicine, ask your doctor, pharmacist or nurse.

Contraindications:

Do not take Meteospasmyl if you are allergic to alverine, simethicone or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

Before taking Meteospasmyl, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine
• There are no teratogenic data available in animals. From a clinical point of view, no malformations in the fetus have occurred to date. Also, the follow-up of pregnant women exposed to alverine is insufficient to exclude a risk
• Consequently, as a precaution, it is preferable not to use alverine during pregnancy
• In the absence of available data on the passage of this medicine into breast milk, it should not be used during pregnancy.

Driving and using machines

• Meteospasmyl is unlikely to have an influence on the ability to drive and use machines. However, Meteospasmyl may cause dizziness, which may influence the ability to drive and use machines.
