Indications:
The main component of Troxevasin gel is troxerutin. Troxerutin has an antioxidant and protective effect on blood vessels, increases the tone of vascular walls and reduces capillary fragility.
Troxevasin gel is indicated for local symptomatic treatment in case of:
-chronic venous insufficiency
-varicose veins and hemorrhoids
-superficial thrombophlebitis, acute phlebitis and postthrombophlebitic syndrome
-post-phlebosclerosis pain.
The drug is administered only to adults, due to the lack of safety studies in children.
Composition:
- The active substance is troxerutin. One g of gel contains 20 mg of troxerutin.
- The other ingredients are: carbomer 980, disodium edetate, benzalkonium chloride, trolamine, purified water.
Method of administration:
The gel is applied in a thin layer to the surfaces affected by varicose veins or hemorrhoids – intact skin, anal mucosa, 2 times/day, morning and evening, massaging gently until completely absorbed. The effect of the treatment with
Troxevasin depends on regular application in appropriate doses and over a long period (2-3 weeks).
Precautions and contraindications:
Before taking Troxevasin, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Do not apply Troxevasin gel to open sores and eczema.
Troxevasin gel contains benzalkonium chloride. This is an irritant and may cause adverse skin reactions.
Troxevasin with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
There is no data available on potential drug interactions with Troxevasin.
Troxevasin with food and drink
There are no restrictions on the use of Troxevasin and the consumption of food or drinks.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
There is no data on the existence of adverse reactions on the health of the fetus or newborn during the use of the drug in pregnant women.
As a precautionary measure, it is not recommended to use Troxevasin gel in the first trimester of pregnancy and during breastfeeding.
Driving and using machines:
Troxevasin does not affect the ability to drive and use machines.
Troxevasin contains benzalkonium chloride. It is an irritant. It may cause skin side effects.
