Cholest Bio Forte

Cholest Bio Forte is available in capsules, packaged in boxes of 30 units, designed for easy administration, optimal absorption and improved gastrointestinal tolerability. The capsules protect the active ingredients from chemical and enzymatic degradation, maintaining the stability of sensitive compounds such as liposomal berberine.

Cholest Bio Forte is recommended:

• people with high levels of total cholesterol and LDL cholesterol;
• people with hypertriglyceridaemia;
• individuals at high cardiovascular risk, due to lifestyle or family history;
• people with dyslipidaemia associated with metabolic syndrome;
• adults over the age of 18 who wish to adopt a natural approach to complement dietary therapy.

Thanks to its liposomal berberine content, the product supports glucose and lipid metabolism, helping to maintain metabolic homeostasis, whilst monacolin K and policosanol complement this effect by regulating circulating lipids.

The recommended dose is 1 capsule per day, to be taken with meals, to optimise absorption of the active ingredients and reduce the risk of gastrointestinal disturbances. 

Prolonged use requires medical supervision, particularly in individuals with associated medical conditions or those undergoing concomitant treatment with lipid-lowering drugs.

Cholest Bio Forte is contraindicated in the following situations:

• pregnancy and breastfeeding;
• children and adolescents under the age of 18;
• adults over 70 years of age;
• people undergoing drug treatment to lower cholesterol;
• people who already consume red yeast rice products;
• patients with severe liver disease;
• people allergic to any of the supplement’s ingredients.

Cholest Bio Forte should be used with caution in the presence of other chronic conditions; you should consult your doctor before starting treatment. 

Berberine may affect the metabolism of certain liver-related medications, whilst monacolin K acts on the same metabolic pathway as statins, which justifies the need to avoid concomitant administration with similar therapies.

In general, Cholest Bio Forte is well tolerated. However, the following may occur:

• gastrointestinal disturbances (bloating, nausea, abdominal cramps);
• headache;
• rarely, liver-related symptoms, particularly when combined with alcohol or other drugs metabolised by the liver;
• allergic reactions to the herbal ingredients;
• mild fatigue, similar to the reactions observed with statins, although reported less frequently.

If symptoms persist, stop treatment and consult a doctor.

Cholest Bio Forte may interact with:

• lipid-lowering drugs (statins) – risk of cumulative effects on cholesterol metabolism;
• anticoagulants – policosanol may enhance their effect;
• oral antidiabetics – berberine may increase insulin sensitivity;
• hepatotoxic drugs – may increase the risk of liver damage.

Overdose may cause:

• severe abdominal pain;
• liver damage manifested by jaundice, severe fatigue, dark-coloured urine;
• excessive reduction in cholesterol;
• muscle disorders similar to statin-induced myopathy.

In the event of an overdose, stop taking the medicine immediately and seek urgent medical attention.

Cholest Bio Forte should be stored at room temperature, ideally between 15 and 25 °C, in a dry place away from direct light, to maintain the stability of the active ingredients. The product should be kept in its original, tightly sealed packaging, out of the reach of children, and must not be frozen or exposed to sources of heat, as such conditions may compromise the integrity of the capsules.
