^Géliofil® Protect is a vaginal gel that fights intimate dryness and bacterial vaginosis. ^{Géliofil®Protect} is a triple action class IIa medical device:

• Protects the vaginal mucosa from harmful bacteria and microorganisms.
• Relieves the symptoms of vaginal disorders
• Restores the natural balance of the vaginal flora

Different species of bacteria coexist in the vagina, most of which are lactobacilli. Lactobacilli produce lactic acid, which acidifies and maintains the physiological (low) pH of the vagina, protecting against infections. If the number of lactobacilli decreases and the vaginal pH increases, the growth of "harmful" bacteria occurs.
This condition is clinically known as bacterial vaginosis. The main symptoms associated with bacterial vaginosis are bad odor, abnormal discharge and vaginal discomfort. Bacterial vaginosis is a very common vaginal condition.
Bacterial vaginosis can be caused by several factors, such as prolonged menstruation, frequent washing, use of intimate hygiene products and sexual intercourse. Antibiotic treatments and the use of an intrauterine device (IUD) can also affect the balance of the vagina.
^Geliofil® Protect naturally treats the symptoms of bacterial vaginosis.
^Geliofil® Protect creates a film barrier that covers the vaginal mucosa and which adheres creating a protective layer. It works by limiting the adhesion of harmful bacteria and microorganisms to the mucosa, creating an unfavorable vaginal environment for them.
^Geliofil® Protect contains lactic acid, which effectively neutralizes bad odors and restores the physiological pH of the vagina. When the pH is normal and nutrients are sufficient, protective lactobacilli develop and the natural vaginal balance is re-established, helping to relieve abnormal discharge and discomfort and preventing the appearance of unpleasant odors.
When should ^Geliofil® Protect be used?
^Geliofil® Protect neutralizes bad odors, restores normal flow, relieves vaginal discomfort and restores vaginal flora in case of vaginal disorders, including bacterial vaginosis.
^Geliofil® Protect is also used to restore the natural pH balance of the vagina.
