Hookwort ( Harpagophytum spp.), also called devil's claw or devil's claw, is a plant from southern Africa. It owes its unusual name to the unique appearance of the hooked, claw-like fruits. Due to its anti-inflammatory effects, devil's claw was used by the natives of the South African steppes for skin care.
Devil's claw root extract combined with menthol causes a pleasant cooling sensation in the applied area. In turn, camphor and eucalyptus oil provide freshness to the skin.
