General information: Kudzu is a plant that holds a firm place in Traditional Chinese Medicine. There, the kudzu bean is called "Ge-gen" or "Kopou bean." It belongs to the legume family, which is closely related to our native beans. As a vegetable rich in isoflavonoids, the kudzu bean is consumed worldwide. It is considered one of the most starchy foods in the botanical world and, with its rapidly growing vines, is a sought-after ornamental plant.
Application: The appetite-stimulating effect of the kudzu bean is believed to derive from various bitter compounds naturally present in the plant. Isoflavonoids in the kudzu bean, which have not yet been definitively proven, are thought to activate alcohol-metabolizing enzymes and reduce nicotine cravings. The preparation described here is derived from the roots, leaves, and fruits of the kudzu bean, thereby activating a broad spectrum of different flavonoids. The DA-CH (successor to the DGE) organization recommends the additional intake of secondary plant compounds (SPCs).
Recommended intake: Take 1 tablet with plenty of liquid every morning and evening.
