ACTION AND MECHANISM

Combination of amide-type local anesthetic and antiseptic. Lidocaine acts by blocking sensory receptors in mucous membranes at a local level.

CONTRAINDICATIONS

- Hypersensitivity to any of the components of this product. Cross-sensitivity with other amide-type local anesthetics may occur. - Contraindicated in children under 6 years of age.

INDICATIONS

Authorized in Spain: Symptomatic relief of mild mouth and pharynx infections with pain and no fever.

RULES FOR CORRECT ADMINISTRATION

Dissolve one lozenge slowly in your mouth. Do not use before meals or drinks.

POSOLOGY

- Adults and adolescents 12 years and older: 1 tablet every 2-3 hours, maximum 8 tablets/day.
- Children under 12 years: Not recommended for children under 12 years.
If symptoms persist for more than 2 days or worsen, or if other symptoms such as high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting appear, the clinical situation should be evaluated.

PRECAUTIONS

- Not recommended for children under 12 years of age (tablets).- Should be used with caution in elderly patients in the acute phase or who are debilitated, as they are more sensitive to the adverse reactions of this medicine.- If symptoms persist for more than 2 days or worsen, or if other symptoms such as high fever, headache, nausea, or vomiting appear, the clinical situation should be assessed.- The anesthesia caused by this medicine at the throat level can promote false airways (coughing during a meal, feeling like you're choking) while eating. It is therefore imperative not to use this medicine before meals or before drinking.- [ASTHMA]. Asthmatic patients should use this product under medical supervision.- This medicine contains terpenes provided by levomenthol. Neurological complications such as seizures in children have been reported at excessive doses of terpenes. However, the absorption and activity of levomenthol for the route of administration of this medicine is very low. Therefore, children up to 9 years of age (average weight 30 kg) are largely protected from the doses of levomenthol that may be absorbed when administered this specialty.

PRECAUTIONS RELATED TO EXCIPIENTS

- This medicine contains glucose. Patients with glucose-galactose malabsorption should not take this medicine.

ADVERSE REACTIONS

Hypersensitivity reactions (stinging, itching), angioedema, and burning in the throat and bad taste may rarely occur.

OVERDOSE

Problems with overdose are not expected. Systemic absorption would manifest as transient CNS stimulation, although this sometimes does not occur, followed by CNS depression (drowsiness, unconsciousness) and cardiovascular depression (hypotension, slow or irregular heartbeat). Prolonged use of this medication (more than 5 days) is not recommended because it can alter the natural microbial balance in the throat. Use in children under 6 years of age at high doses and for long periods of time may cause seizures.
