Description
Ticagrelor Stada, 90 mg, 56 film-coated tablets, Stada [4011548051337]
Ticagrelor STADA together with acetylsalicylic acid (another antiplatelet medicine) is indicated for use in adults only. You have been given this medicine because you have:
• a myocardial infarction more than a year ago.
• unstable angina (angina or chest pain that is not well controlled)
The medicine reduces the risk of having another heart attack, stroke or dying from related heart or blood vessel damage.
How does Ticagrelor STADA work:
Ticagrelor STADA affects cells called ‘platelets’ (also called thrombocytes). These very small cells in the blood help to stop bleeding by sticking together (aggregating) to plug small holes in cut or damaged blood vessels.
However, platelets can also form clots inside diseased blood vessels in the heart and brain. This can be very dangerous because:
• the clot may completely block the blood supply – this can cause a heart attack or stroke, or
• the clot can partially block the blood vessels that supply the heart – this reduces blood flow
• to the heart and can cause chest pain that comes and goes (called “unstable angina”).
Ticagrelor STADA helps to stop platelets from clumping together. This reduces the risk of a blood clot forming which can reduce blood flow.
Do not take Ticagrelor STADA if:
• You are allergic to ticagrelor or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Ticagrelor STADA.
