Thyme essential oil, A6, 10 ml, Fares
Ingredients:
The essential oil obtained from the aerial parts of the species Thymus vulgaris L., family Lamiaceae, contains thymol, carvacrol, p-cymene, terpinene.
Effect:
Broad spectrum antibacterial, antiviral, antifungal, expectorant, digestive tonic, stomachic, carminative, anthelmintic, choleretic, antispasmodic, tonic and nerve stimulant, local anesthetic.
Administration method:
Internal use : the recommended doses (according to the table) are mixed with a teaspoon of honey.
The oil is administered for 7-14 days. The treatment can be repeated after a break of 2 weeks.
External use:
Inhalations, aromatherapy candle, massage, otic solution.
Contraindications:
- It is not recommended for pregnant women and nursing mothers, children under 7 years of age and in case of hypersensitivity to thyme.
- Thyme essential oil is irritating to mucous membranes, so always use it diluted!
- Avoid overdose, abuse and contact with eyes.
Evaluation of efficiency:
- The antimicrobial effect of thyme essential oil has been tested by medical laboratory analysis.
- Aromatograms (similar to antibiograms) were performed on pharyngeal exudates and urine cultures.
- Thyme essential oil was found to be effective on the tested germs (Staphylococcus aureus, E. Coli, Klebsiella, Pseudomonas, Proteus, Beta-haemolytic Streptococcus, Candida albicans).
- The effect proved similar to that of antibiotics (tested in parallel on antibiograms), in addition, the germs that showed resistance to the synthetic antibiotic were sensitive to thyme essential oil.
