Description
Vicks VapoRub is a medicine in the form of an ointment with a complex composition, used to treat the symptoms of irritation and inflammation of the mucous membrane of the nose and throat, including: during a cold. The preparation is intended for rubbing on the chest and back and for inhalation by evaporation of the volatile ingredients. The preparation can be used by both adults and children over 5 years of age.
The active ingredients of Vicks VapoRub ointment are: camphor, eucalyptus oil, levomenthol and turpentine oil. They help relieve the symptoms of the upper respiratory tract that occur during a runny nose, with swelling of the mucous membranes and a feeling of difficulty breathing (so-called nasal congestion). At the same time, levomenthol and camphor calm the swelling of the mucous membranes of the nasal turbinates and relieve cough through a mild anesthetic effect. Eucalyptus oil and turpentine oil stimulate the secretion of mucus in the upper respiratory tract, thus stimulating expectoration.
