Blokurima
Description Blokurima
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.be team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Blokurima is a food supplement designed to support the normal functioning of the urinary tract and maintain bladder comfort, based on a complex formula combining D-mannose, standardised plant extracts and magnesium. Thanks to the combination of active ingredients, Blokurima works by reducing the adhesion of uropathogenic bacteria to the bladder urothelium, supporting local immune mechanisms and maintaining electrolyte balance, thereby helping to prevent recurrences and optimise kidney and bladder function.
Forms of supply
Blokurima is available in sachets of powder for oral solution or as tablets.
For example, the Blokurima range includes both Blokurima Rapid, 10 sachets, intended for use in acute or subacute episodes of urinary tract disorders, and Blokurima Uro+ 2 g D-mannose, 30 sachets, designed for regular, long-term care of the urinary tract.
The powder should be dissolved in a glass of water, mineral water or tea, avoiding acidic drinks (e.g. fruit juices or cranberry-based preparations), which may affect the stability of the ingredients or digestive tolerance.
Directions for use
Blokurima is recommended for:
- supporting the health of the urinary tract and kidneys;
- reducing bacterial adhesion to the bladder wall;
- maintaining urinary comfort in cases of dysuria or frequent urination;
- long-term care for people prone to recurrent urinary tract infections;
- adjuvant support during periods of immunological vulnerability.
D-mannose, the key component of the formula, is a monosaccharide that is not significantly metabolised systemically but is excreted unchanged via the kidneys into the urinary bladder, where it interferes with the mechanism by which bacteria, particularly Escherichia coli, attach to urothelial receptors.
Dosage regimen
For Blokurima Rapid, on the first day of administration, it is recommended to take 4 sachets throughout the day, i.e. one sachet every 6 hours, to ensure an adequate concentration of D-mannose in the urine. On the second day, the dose is reduced to 3 sachets per day (morning, midday and evening), whilst from the third day onwards, treatment continues with one sachet per day, taken in the evening before bedtime, to maintain the protective effect on the urinary tract.
For Blokurima Uro+, it is recommended to take one sachet a day, preferably in the evening before bedtime, dissolved in a glass of water, mineral water or tea.
Contraindications
Blokurima Zentiva is not recommended:
- for children under 3 years of age
- people with hypersensitivity to any of the ingredients
- in cases of severe kidney or liver failure without medical advice.
Although some forms are considered suitable for pregnant women and diabetics, use during pregnancy or in cases of chronic illness should be on the advice of a doctor.
Special considerations
D-mannose is excreted unchanged in the urine, which explains its favourable metabolic profile and high tolerability, even in people with diabetes mellitus. The presence of magnesium contributes to electrolyte balance and the normal functioning of the smooth muscles of the bladder.
For maximum effectiveness, adequate hydration is recommended, and factors that irritate the urinary tract (alcohol, hot spices) should be avoided.
Side effects
Blokurima is generally well tolerated. Possible adverse reactions include:
- mild gastrointestinal disturbances (bloating, temporary diarrhoea);
- rare allergic reactions to plant extracts.
If you experience any unusual reactions, stop taking the product and consult a doctor.
Interactions with other medicines and food
No significant drug interactions have been reported. It is recommended to avoid dissolving the product in acidic drinks, as these may compromise the stability of the formula or digestive tolerability.
Inulin in the Uro+ form may have a prebiotic effect, positively influencing the gut microbiota.
Overdose
No serious cases of overdose have been reported. Excessive intake may cause transient digestive disturbances, particularly due to D-mannose and inulin. In the event of accidental ingestion of a large quantity, hydration and clinical monitoring are recommended.
Storage conditions
Blokurima should be stored at room temperature (below 25 °C), protected from direct light and moisture. The product should be kept in its original packaging and out of the reach of children.
