Ituman Forte is available in sachets of soluble powder, each containing pre-determined doses of active ingredients, which facilitate rapid administration and ensure optimal bioavailability. 

The water-dispersible form allows for adequate absorption and rapid action in the urinary tract, reducing acute discomfort and supporting bladder function.

Ituman Forte sachets are recommended in the following situations:

• Support for the treatment of acute or recurrent urinary tract infections, particularly in cases where colonisation of the bladder by uropathogenic bacteria, such as Escherichia coli, causes symptoms such as frequent urination, dysuria or a sensation of pelvic pressure.
• Prevention of cystitis recurrence, by preventing bacteria from adhering to the urothelium thanks to the action of D-mannose.
• Normalisation of the urinary microclimate, maintaining an optimal pH of 6–6.5, thanks to potassium and magnesium citrates.
• Support for digestive and immune function, thanks to the high content of inulin, which contributes to the balance of the microbiota.

According to the manufacturer’s recommendations, Ituman Forte should be administered in several stages.

In the initial phase, one sachet is taken three times a day for one week, followed by one sachet twice a day for another week, after which the maintenance dose is continued. 

The contents of each sachet should be dissolved in a glass containing approximately 200 ml of water and consumed immediately to ensure optimal absorption. For maintenance, one sachet per day is recommended, to be taken in the evening before bedtime. 

Ituman Forte is contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s ingredients. There are clinical situations that require caution, such as:

• severe renal impairment
• pre-existing electrolyte imbalances

The product is gluten- and lactose-free and is suitable for people with specific food intolerances.

The administration of Ituman Forte requires a number of precautions to optimise its safety and efficacy:

• Adequate water intake is essential to maintain urine flow and the elimination of pathogens.
• When used in conjunction with antibiotics, the product may be administered as a complementary treatment without interfering with the antibacterial mechanisms, but it must not be considered a substitute for the prescribed treatment.

Ituman Forte is generally well tolerated. However, the following may occur:

• minor gastrointestinal effects, such as bloating, flatulence or increased bowel movements, due to the increased intake of inulin;
• a laxative effect, which may occur in the event of excessive consumption;
• rarely, hypersensitivity reactions to bioflavonoids or citrates.

These symptoms are usually self-limiting and do not require discontinuation of treatment.

Ituman Forte does not have any significant drug interactions. However:

• Inulin may slightly alter the absorption of certain orally administered medicines; a 2-hour interval between doses is recommended.
• Citrates may affect the action of medicines that alter electrolyte balance, particularly potassium-sparing diuretics.

Overdose with Ituman Forte is unlikely, given the safety profile of the ingredients. However, excessive consumption may cause:

• diarrhoea, due to inulin;
• mild electrolyte disturbances, if the intake of citrates significantly exceeds the recommended doses.

In such cases, it is recommended to temporarily discontinue administration and restore fluid balance.

The product must be stored in its original packaging, protected from moisture, at room temperature, and out of the reach of children. Compliance with these conditions ensures the stability of the active ingredients throughout the shelf life.
