Sinomarin

The Sinomarin seawater range includes various formulations, tailored to age and clinical needs:

• Sinomarin Children, hypertonic decongestant nasal spray, 100 ml, intended for infants (over 6 months) and children, with a gentle spray and safety tip.
• Sinomarin ENT, hypertonic decongestant nasal spray, 200 ml, recommended for intensive nasal irrigation in adults and children over 10 years of age, including in cases of viscous or purulent secretions and in the post-operative period.
• Sinomarin Babies, hypertonic solution in single-dose vials (18 x 5 ml vials), intended for nasal hygiene in infants and young children.
• Sinomarin Nasal Spray for adults, 125 ml, normal flow, suitable for adults and children over 6 years of age.

Sinomarin is indicated for relieving nasal congestion and maintaining nasal hygiene in cases of:

• acute respiratory infections (colds, flu);
• allergic or non-allergic rhinitis;
• acute or chronic sinusitis;
• recovery periods following endonasal surgery;
• exposure to irritants (pollution, dry air, dust). 

By reducing the microbial load and secretions, regular use can help prevent nasosinus complications.

The dosage varies depending on age and the form of administration. Generally, 1–2 sprays or drops are administered into each nostril, 2–3 times a day, or as recommended by your doctor. 

The frequency may be adjusted according to symptoms, taking into account the safety profile of the solution.

Sinomarin is contraindicated in people with known hypersensitivity to seawater or any of its components. Caution is advised in cases of frequent nosebleeds or recent injuries to the nasal mucosa; in such situations, use should be discussed with a doctor.

As a hypertonic solution, Sinomarin may temporarily cause a slight burning sensation or local discomfort, particularly during the first few uses. Correct administration technique (head position, spray intensity) is essential for efficacy and comfort. In infants, the use of the safety cap and single-dose vials reduces the risk of injury.

Adverse effects are rare and, as a rule, mild: transient nasal burning sensation, sneezing or local discomfort. These symptoms are self-limiting and do not require discontinuation of treatment. No systemic reactions have been reported.

Due to its non-pharmacological nature, Sinomarin has no known drug interactions. It may be used in conjunction with pharmacological nasal treatments (e.g. intranasal corticosteroids), preferably prior to these, to improve contact between the medication and the mucosa. There are no interactions with food.

No cases of overdose have been reported. Excessive use may exacerbate local discomfort, without systemic consequences. Adherence to the recommended dosage is sufficient to ensure safety.

Sinomarin products should be stored at room temperature, protected from frost and direct sunlight. After opening, follow the manufacturer’s instructions regarding the shelf life and use single-dose vials immediately after opening.
