Lactium® is a milk protein hydrolyzate containing a unique bioactive peptide: alpha-casozepine. Alpha-casozepine is a peptide composed of 10 amino acids, derived from the tryptic hydrolysis of bovine casein. It has anxiolytic properties, acting like benzodiazepines. Alpha-casozepine is a natural anxiolytic and has an affinity for GABA-A receptors. Its anti-stress action does not create dependence or habituation. This decapeptide, whose relaxing effects have been demonstrated by numerous studies, contains very little lactose (< 1%), so the risk of intolerance is minimal. Unlike benzodiazepines, which belong to the anxiolytic family, Lactium® is not addictive. Furthermore, it has no toxic effect on the body, even at high doses: it is completely natural and safe.
