Description
ACTION AND MECHANISM
- Antithrombotic. Heparinoids such as chondroitin sulfate increase the activity of antithrombin III, resulting in an anticoagulant effect. This anticoagulant effect is not evident after topical administration, but they promote the reabsorption of local hematomas.
SENIORS
No specific problems have been described in the elderly that would require a dosage adjustment.
PATIENT ADVICE
Apply with a light massage. If you have a thrombosis, apply without massaging.
- Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes. Do not apply to areas of skin with wounds, irritations, or symptoms of inflammation or infection.
The duration of treatment is usually 1-2 weeks for varicose veins and less than 10 days for hematomas. If, after 5 days of varicose vein treatment, symptoms do not improve or worsen, consult your doctor and/or pharmacist.
- If you forget to apply a dose, continue with your treatment. Do not double the next dose.
CONTRAINDICATIONS
- Hypersensitivity to heparinoids or any other component of the medication.
- Active [HEMORRHAGE] or serious coagulation disorders.
EFFECTS ON DRIVING

PREGNANCY
Animal safety: no teratogenic or embryotoxic effects have been observed in animals.
Safety in humans: There are no adequate and well-controlled studies in humans. Its administration is only acceptable if there are no safer therapeutic alternatives, and the benefits outweigh the potential risks.

INDICATIONS

INTERACTIONS

LACTATION
It is unknown whether it is excreted in breast milk, and what the consequences might be for the infant. It is recommended to discontinue breastfeeding or avoid administering it.
CHILDREN
The safety and efficacy of this product for the treatment of varicose veins in children and adolescents under 18 years of age, and for the treatment of hematomas in children under 1 year of age, have not been evaluated, so its use is not recommended.
GUIDELINES FOR PROPER ADMINISTRATION
Apply to the skin with a light massage to promote absorption.
In the case of varicose veins associated with thrombotic processes, apply without massage.
Avoid contact with eyes and mucous membranes, as well as broken, inflamed, irritated, or infected skin. Wash your hands with water after each application.
POSOLOGY
- Adults, topical: apply a thin layer, 2-3 times a day.
- Children and adolescents under 18 years of age, topical: no dosage adjustment required.
Safety and efficacy for the treatment of varicose veins in children < 18 years and hematomas in children < 1 year have not been evaluated.
- Elderly, topical: no dosage adjustment required.

PRECAUTIONS RELATING TO EXCIPIENTS
- Because it contains cetostearyl alcohol, it may cause local skin reactions, such as contact dermatitis.
ADVERSE REACTIONS
It is usually well tolerated and only occasionally might local adverse reactions appear in the application area.
Adverse reactions are described according to each frequency interval, being considered very common (>10%), common (1-10%), uncommon (0.1-1%), rare (0.01-0.1%), very rare (<0.01%) or of unknown frequency (cannot be estimated from the available data).
- Allergic: very rare local [HYPERSENSITIVITY REACTIONS], with [PRURITUS] or [SKIN IRRITATION], which usually disappear when treatment is discontinued.
OVERDOSE
Symptoms: there is no experience with poisonings.
Treatment: symptomatic.
