Markoton gel, 45g, Fiterman

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.

Indications:
- Phlebitis prophylaxis
- Burns, promoting re-epithelialization
- Superficial inflammatory and thrombotic diseases: varicose syndrome and complications
- Treatment of varicose ulcers
- Treatment of post-traumatic injuries of joints and soft tissues: dislocations, sprains, contusions, muscle strains, meniscus disorders, tenosynovitis, contractures, hematomas

Advantages:
The healing, anti-inflammatory and moisturizing properties of dexpanthenol are added to the anti-thrombotic, anti-inflammatory and healing properties of heparin.
Thanks to the two absorption promoters (allantoin and dexpanthenol), the absorption of heparin through the skin is facilitated along with the hydration water. These promoters also have intense hydration, as well as healing and scarring properties.

Composition:
1 gram of gel contains 1000 IU heparin sodium and 50 mg dexpanthenol.
Also contains allantoin, carbomer 980, trolamine, ethyl alcohol, methyl p-hydroxybenzoate, n-propyl p-hydroxybenzoate, purified water.

Dosage and method of administration:
On the painful skin area (over a length of approximately 5 cm at the level of the injured area) apply 2-3 g of gel 1-3 times/day. Massage is not indicated in the treatment of venous diseases, but an occlusive dressing can be applied. The duration of treatment depends on the therapist's instructions.

Precautions and contraindications:
Do not use Markoton:
- if you are hypersensitive to heparin or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
-if there are bleeding diatheses or coagulation disorders.
-do not apply to open wounds, purulent infectious foci or mucous membranes.
-when there are coagulation disorders
-in dehydrated, hypovolaemic or hypotensive individuals, in whom there is a potential risk of increased renal toxicity.

Markoton gel together with other medicines:
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking, have recently taken or might take any other medicines.
There are no known interactions of the active substances in Markoton gel with other locally applied medicines.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
The medicine can only be used during pregnancy and breastfeeding for short periods and on the recommendation of a doctor.

Store below 25°C, in the original packaging.
Do not use after the expiration date printed on the packaging.
