Coprovet

Coprovet dog and cat is available as a veterinary supplement for oral administration, marketed in several formats tailored to the preferences and needs of pets.

• The most commonly used form is Coprovet capsules, manufactured by VetExpert, designed for daily administration in dogs and cats with digestive disorders. 
• Another form is the oral powder packaged in a bottle of approximately 50 g, intended for sprinkling over food. 

VetExpert Coprovet is recommended for the management of digestive disorders in dogs and cats, particularly when these are associated with incomplete digestion, malabsorption or an imbalance in the gut microbiota.

Coprovet is indicated in the following situations:

• intestinal tract disorders associated with poor digestion;
• intestinal dysbiosis or disturbances of the gastrointestinal microflora;
• malabsorption syndrome;
• incomplete protein digestion;
• physiological or behavioural coprophagia;
• strong faecal odour;
• periods of digestive convalescence.

Coprovet VetExpert should be administered in accordance with the veterinary surgeon’s instructions and based on the animal’s body weight.

For the capsule form, the recommended regimen is:

• dogs and cats weighing up to 10 kg: 1 capsule per day;
• dogs weighing over 10 kg: 2 capsules per day.

For the powder form, the usual dose is approximately 1 tablespoon per day sprinkled over the food.

Vet Expert Coprovet is generally well tolerated by dogs and cats and has no major contraindications when used in accordance with the manufacturer’s recommendations.

However, administration should be avoided in animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components, including plant extracts or probiotic strains. Furthermore, in animals with severe digestive disorders or complex systemic conditions, the product should only be used following assessment by a veterinarian.

Before administering Coprovet, it is recommended to consult a veterinarian to establish the correct diagnosis and identify the cause of the digestive disorders or coprophagia.

The product’s active ingredients contribute to several beneficial mechanisms:

• bromelain from pineapple aids protein digestion;
• fructooligosaccharides stimulate the growth of beneficial bacteria;
• Enterococcus faecium and Lactobacillus rhamnosus help maintain the balance of the gut microbiota;
• Yucca extract reduces faecal odour by neutralising ammonium compounds;
• peppermint may help reduce odours and improve digestion.

In most cases, Coprovet is well tolerated by dogs and cats. Thanks to its composition based on natural ingredients and probiotics, the risk of adverse reactions is low.

Occasionally, mild, temporary digestive disturbances may occur, such as changes in stool consistency or flatulence, particularly at the start of treatment. If any unusual reactions occur, treatment should be discontinued and consultation with a vet is recommended.

Coprovet may be administered concurrently with most veterinary diets or standard animal feed.

No significant interactions with medicines commonly used in veterinary medicine have been reported. However, in the case of complex drug treatments, particularly those affecting the intestinal flora, it is recommended to consult a vet to adjust the treatment regimen.

If a higher than recommended dose is administered, transient digestive disturbances such as diarrhoea or abdominal discomfort may occur.

In the event of accidental overdose, it is recommended to contact a vet immediately to assess the animal’s condition and determine the appropriate treatment.

Coprovet must be stored in its original packaging, in a dry place, protected from moisture and direct sunlight.

The storage temperature must not exceed 25°C. The product must be kept out of the reach of children and used exclusively for veterinary purposes.
