preval OIL BATH – replenishing care for dry and sensitive skin

Preval Oil Bath is a medicated oil bath for the care and adjunctive treatment of dry skin (sebostasis). It is particularly suitable for aging skin, ichthyosis, and allergic skin conditions such as atopic dermatitis (eczema) and as part of phototherapy for psoriasis. The formulation aims to support the impaired barrier function of dry skin and reduce increased transepidermal water loss.

Mechanism of action and care properties

Preval Oil Bath contains linoleic acid from grapeseed oil, which can compensate for a deficiency of linoleic acid-containing lipids in the skin and thus contribute to normalizing its barrier properties. Paraffin oil, as a pure hydrocarbon, is practically not absorbed and, thanks to its occlusive properties, reduces water loss from the skin. The oil disperses in the bathwater in a very fine, skin-friendly form and is absorbed particularly well. This makes the oil bath also ideal as a skin care product when the skin's natural lipid barrier has been disrupted, for example, by detergents, frequent showering, or visits to swimming pools with additives.

Pleasant application without an annoying greasy film

At the recommended dosage, preval OIL BATH leaves no unpleasant greasy residue on the skin or in the bathtub, so showering after the bath is usually unnecessary. At the same time, the oil bath provides sufficient cleansing of the skin, making additional cleansing after the bath unnecessary. The product is lightly fragranced, thus combining gentle skin cleansing with soothing care in a cosmetically pleasing way.

Application recommendation

For a full bath, add 15–30 ml of preval OIL BATH (approximately 1–2 tablespoons) to the bathwater. The bath should last approximately 10–15 minutes. It is recommended to take a full bath with preval OIL BATH 2–3 times a week for skin care. Use as needed and according to the individual recommendations of your healthcare provider.
