Bisacodyl Laropharm 5 mg is a laxative (purgative) with local action, which stimulates involuntary muscle contractions of the walls of the digestive tract (intestine), ensuring the progression of the contents (fecal bolus) along its path and reducing the consistency of the feces.
Because it is a laxative that acts in the colon, Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg does not alter the digestion and absorption of calories and essential nutrients from food.
Bisacodyl Laropharm 5 mg is used:
- in case of constipation;
- for preparation for medical investigations that require emptying the intestine of its contents through defecation;
- according to the doctor's instructions, before or after surgeries and conditions that require emptying the intestine of contents by facilitating the elimination of feces through defecation.

Do not use Bisacodyl Laropharm 5 mg:
- if you are allergic to bisacodyl or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Similar to other medicines, Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg should be taken during pregnancy or breastfeeding only on the recommendation of a doctor. Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg can be used during breastfeeding.

Driving and using machines:
No studies have been conducted on the effects of Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg on the ability to drive or use machines.
However, due to abdominal spasms associated with constipation, dizziness and/or fainting may occur.
If you have abdominal spasms you should avoid potentially dangerous activities such as driving or using machinery.
Bisacodyl Laropharm 5 mg contains lactose.
If your doctor has told you that you have an intolerance to some sugars, please contact him before taking this medicine.

Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The recommended dose is:
For the treatment of constipation
Adults:
Take 1-2 tablets of Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg (5-10 mg bisacodyl) per day. Start with 1 tablet.
The dose may be adjusted up to a maximum of 2 tablets to produce regular bowel movements. Do not exceed the maximum daily dose of 2 tablets.

Children between the ages of 6 and 10:
Take 1 tablet of Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg per day. You should not give Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg to children aged 10 years or younger unless recommended by your child's doctor.
For preparation of investigations and before surgical interventions
In order to prepare for investigations and before surgical interventions, Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg will be administered under medical supervision.
Adults:
For complete evacuation of the colon, the recommended dose of Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg is 2 tablets (10 mg) in the morning, then 2 tablets (10 mg) in the evening before the examination, before bedtime, followed by one suppository on the morning of the examination.

Children and adolescents:
For children aged 4 years and over, 1 gastro-resistant tablet of Bisacodil Laropharm 5 mg is recommended in the evening and an immediate-acting laxative for paediatric use (e.g. a suppository) the following morning.

Method of administration:
The tablets should be swallowed whole (do not chew or crush them), with plenty of water.

- The active substance is bisacodyl. Each gastro-resistant tablet contains 5 mg bisacodyl.
- The other ingredients are: core - pregelatinized corn starch, lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose PH 102, Povidone K30, talc, magnesium stearate; film - Kollicoat MAE 30 DP (methacrylic acid and ethyl acrylate copolymer (1:1), sodium lauryl sulfate, polysorbate 80 (E 433)), propylene glycol (E1520), talc, titanium dioxide (E171).
