Properties:

• Rehydration salts - powder for drinking solution
• Dehydration occurs when the body loses too much fluid (when water intake is stopped or when the body loses large amounts of water through diarrhea, sweating, vomiting).
• Normally the body absorbs fluid from the blood or other body tissues. When the body is dehydrated, the patient can go into shock.
• Dehydration can occur at any age but is very dangerous for the elderly, children or newborns.
• Dehydration can be remedied by reducing fluid loss and replacing it.
• To avoid dehydration, oral rehydration salts are indicated.

Composition:
Anhydrous dextrose – 3.532 g, sodium chloride -0.614 g, sodium citrate -0.510 g, potassium chloride – 0.263 g.

Administration method:
oral. The powder is dissolved in 200 ml of boiled and cooled water.
Children: 1-3 envelopes
Adults: 1-5 sachets
The amount of product used in 24 hours depends on age and the severity of fluid and mineral loss.

Precautions:

• It is used with caution in case of renal dysfunction or intestinal obstruction.
• Effects and characteristics: Rehydration salts have the role of quickly compensating the loss of minerals and fluids in case of acute diarrhea. Through their composition, they help correct dehydration and electrolyte imbalance.
