Alevica
Description Alevica
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.be team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Alevica is a complementary feed for dogs and cats, formulated to support the physiological mechanisms involved in regulating nociception and maintaining the functional balance of the nervous system. The product contains palmitoylethanolamide (PEA), an endogenous bioactive molecule naturally present in numerous plant and animal food sources, as well as quercetin, a bioflavonoid with well-documented antioxidant properties.
Forms of supply
Alevica is available as a liquid solution (Alevica Liquid) or chewable tablets, formulated to facilitate administration to pets. The product is sold in packs containing 20 or 40 tablets.
The tablets are highly palatable, allowing them to be administered directly into the animal’s mouth or mixed with their daily food.
Indications for use
Alevica Innovet is recommended for dogs and cats in situations where support for nociceptive function and the physiological balance of the nervous system is required.
The product can be used in particular in the context of conditions characterised by inflammation or chronic discomfort, as well as in cases of disorders associated with oxidative stress.
By restoring endogenous reserves of palmitoylethanolamide and through the supply of quercetin, Alevica helps to modulate inflammatory processes and protect cellular structures against free radicals.
Dosage regimen
The dosage of Alevica Innovet is determined according to the animal’s body weight to ensure appropriate and effective administration of the active ingredients.
The recommended dosage schedule is as follows:
- 1–6 kg: ¼ tablet per day
- 7–14 kg: ½ tablet per day
- 15–25 kg: 1 tablet per day
- 26–40 kg: 1½ tablets per day
- 41–60 kg: 2 tablets per day
- 61–75 kg: 2½ tablets per day
- over 75 kg: 3 tablets per day
Contraindications
Alevica must not be administered to animals with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components. In the absence of sufficient data on use in certain categories of animals, caution is advised when administering to pregnant animals, except where use is recommended by a veterinary surgeon.
Furthermore, administration must be carried out in accordance with the instructions, avoiding exceeding the recommended doses.
Specifics of use
Alevica Innovet is a product intended for use as a complementary nutritional support and is not designed to replace medicinal treatments prescribed by a veterinarian.
In the case of chronic or severe conditions, the product may be used as part of a comprehensive treatment plan, which may include pharmacological treatments, dietary changes and other medical interventions.
Side effects
In general, Alevica is well tolerated by dogs and cats when administered as recommended. Adverse effects are rare and, when they do occur, are usually mild and transient.
Occasionally, minor digestive symptoms may occur, such as temporary loss of appetite or mild gastrointestinal disturbances. If any unusual reactions occur, administration of the product should be discontinued and consultation with a vet is recommended.
Interactions with other medicines and food
To date, no significant interactions have been reported between Alevica and other medicines or dietary supplements commonly used in veterinary medicine.
However, in the case of animals undergoing drug treatment for chronic conditions, it is recommended to consult a vet before introducing the supplement into the treatment regimen, to avoid possible interactions or overlapping effects.
Overdose
Available data indicate that palmitoylethanolamide has a favourable safety profile, even at doses higher than those recommended. However, administration of excessive amounts may cause transient digestive disturbances.
In the event of suspected overdose, it is recommended to monitor the animal and seek advice from a veterinarian.
Storage conditions
Alevica should be stored in its original packaging, in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat sources. The optimal storage temperature is generally below 25°C.
The product must be kept out of the reach of children and animals and must not be used after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
