Paragrippe

Paragrippe is available in white tablets, designed to dissolve slowly in the mouth. The standard pack contains 60 tablets.

The pharmaceutical form is designed for oral absorption, which promotes rapid action in the early stages of flu symptoms. For paediatric patients under the age of 6, the tablets may be administered after dissolving them in water, to facilitate swallowing and prevent the risk of choking.

Paragrippe is traditionally used for:

• Early stages of flu, accompanied by chills, fatigue, low-grade or moderate fever, muscle aches and joint pain.
• The flu period, when symptoms are well established and headache, body aches and a general feeling of malaise persist.
• Flu-like symptoms, regardless of viral aetiology, provided the clinical picture corresponds to the symptoms mentioned above.

Paragrippe does not replace aetiological treatment in serious infections and does not replace medical consultation in cases where the fever persists, worsens or is accompanied by respiratory complications.

The recommended dose for adults and children over 6 years of age is 2 tablets administered at intervals of 1–2 hours, with a break during meals. The tablets should be allowed to dissolve in the mouth, without being swallowed whole.

Once symptoms have improved, the dosage is gradually reduced, maintaining a maintenance regimen until complete remission.

In children under 6 years of age, the tablets should be dissolved in water before administration to avoid difficulty in swallowing.

Paragrippe is contraindicated in the following situations:

• Hypersensitivity to the active ingredients (Arnica montana, Belladonna, Eupatorium perfoliatum, Gelsemium, Sulphur) or to the product’s excipients (sugar, lactose, magnesium stearate).
• Intolerance to certain types of carbohydrates, in which case it is essential to consult a doctor beforehand, given the presence of lactose and sugar in the formula.
• Pregnancy and breastfeeding, due to insufficient data on the safety of administration.

Do not use as the sole treatment for complicated flu infections or in situations requiring rapid medical intervention.

Paragrippe is intended for use in the early stages of illness, when the likelihood of a favourable response is greatest.

The tablets should be held in the mouth until completely dissolved to optimise absorption. It is not advisable to double the dose if a dose is missed.

According to the information provided in the package leaflet, there are no known adverse reactions to Paragrippe. 

This lack of reports does not rule out the possibility of individual reactions; therefore, any unexpected reaction should be reported to your doctor or pharmacist.

Paragrippe Boiron does not interact with other medicines, making it easy to integrate into multimodal treatment regimens. 

No interactions with food have been reported. However, it is preferable to administer it between meals to avoid digestive interference with oral mucosal absorption.

In the event of accidental administration of a larger number of tablets, consult your doctor or pharmacist. 

Paragrippe must be used in accordance with the instructions in the package leaflet, without exceeding the recommended doses.

Keep the medicine out of the sight and reach of children. It is recommended to store it at room temperature, away from excessive moisture. Do not use the product after the expiry date stated on the packaging. Unused medicines should not be disposed of in the bin or down the drain; the pharmacy is the appropriate collection point for responsible disposal.
