Aflamil 15mg cream, 60 g, Gedeon Richter Romania
Read the leaflet carefully and completely before you start using this medicine, because it contains important information for you. Always use this medicine as directed in this leaflet or as directed by your doctor or pharmacist.
Indications:
- Aflamil contains aceclofenac as an active substance. Aceclofenac has anti-inflammatory, analgesic and antipyretic action.
- Aflamil is used in the local treatment of all types of pain and inflammation with various musculoskeletal causes, including traumatic injuries. The medicine can be used to relieve inflammation of tendons, ligaments, muscles and joints, in case of sprains, strains or bruises, as well as in the treatment of lumbago, stiff neck (torticollis) and inflammation of the tissues around the joints (periarthritis).
Composition:
The active substance is aceclofenac. One gram of cream contains aceclofenac 15 mg.
Administration method:
- Always use this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
- The recommended dose is 1.5-2 g of cream, depending on the size of the affected area (approximately 5-7 cm), applied three times a day, by gently massaging the affected skin area.
- This medicine is intended exclusively for external use and should not be used in occlusive bandages.
- Wash your hands after application, unless the treated area is at hand level.
Contraindications:
Do not use Aflamil
- if you are allergic to aceclofenac or any of the other components of this medicine (listed in point 6).
- if you have experienced allergic reactions after taking acetylsalicylic acid or other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs.
The symptoms of these allergic reactions can be:
bronchial asthma, wheezing, breathing difficulties, skin rash or hives, swelling of the face or tongue, inflammation of the mucous membrane that lines the inside of the nose (rhinitis). If you have shown hypersensitivity to diclofenac, the use of Aflamil is not recommended.
Precautions:
- Before using Aflamil, consult your doctor or pharmacist.
- If the use of Aflamil causes skin irritation, contact your doctor.
- Do not apply on the mucous membranes, on irritated skin (with eczema), which has injuries or open wounds or if the application area includes any other skin condition.
- The safety and efficacy of aceclofenac use in children under 18 years of age have not been established. No data available.
- Avoid exposing the treated area to the sun without protection, to prevent photosensitivity reactions.
- As with other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs), allergic reactions may occur at the beginning of treatment, including anaphylactic/anaphylactoid reactions. Very rarely, severe skin reactions can occur (in most cases in the first month of treatment), some of which are fatal, including exfoliative dermatitis, Stevens-Johnson syndrome and toxic epidermal necrolysis in connection with NSAID use. Discontinue treatment with aceclofenac and contact your doctor as soon as a skin rash, mucosal lesions or any other sign of hypersensitivity appear.
- Exceptionally, chicken pox can trigger serious infectious complications in the skin and soft tissues. Until now, the role of NSAIDs in aggravating these infections cannot be excluded. As a result, it is recommended to avoid the use of aceclofenac in the case of chickenpox.
Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
- If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant or intend to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking this medicine.
- The use of Aflamil is not recommended during pregnancy and breastfeeding.
