Description
Alopexia is a medicine for men who suffer from baldness. The indication for the use of the drug is male pattern baldness (androgenetic alopecia) of moderate severity. The active substance of Alopexy is minoxidil - an antihypertensive compound that, when used topically, stimulates the growth of keratinocytes and hair (in vitro and in vivo studies). For the stimulation of hair growth to be visible, a treatment with the product twice a day for 2 months may be necessary. The dose of medicine should be applied to the scalp and spread with the fingertips over the entire surface of the treated skin. After local administration, minoxidil is absorbed to a small extent - on average, 1.7% of the applied dose enters the systemic circulation. Alopexy is not recommended for use by women due to limited efficacy and excessive hair growth outside the application areas.
Alopexia belongs to a group of dermatological drugs. It comes as a clear, light yellow solution for topical application to the skin. The drug bottle contains a child-resistant cap, which is additionally equipped with a dosing pump with an applicator for more convenient application of the drug.
