Apap Forte for Children, 40 mg/ml Oral Suspension, 85 ml, USP
Indications:
Apap Forte for children belongs to a group of medicines called analgesics (pain relievers) and antipyretics, which relieve mild to moderate pain and reduce fever.
Apap Forte for children can be used for the short-term symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain (eg headache, toothache and period pain) and/or fever (high temperature).
Apap Forte for children is used for the treatment of mild to moderate pain and/or fever in infants (over 3 months of age), children, adolescents and adults (including the elderly).
If after 2 days you do not feel better or if you feel worse, you should see a doctor.
Contraindications:
Do not take Apap Forte for children:
- if you are allergic to paracetamol or any of the other components of this medicine.
Precautions :
Before taking Apap Forte for children, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
If necessary, Apap Forte for children can be used during pregnancy. You should use the lowest possible dose that reduces pain and/or fever and use it for the shortest possible time. Ask your doctor if the pain and/or fever is not reduced or if you need to take the medicine more often.
In the recommended doses, Apap Forte for children can be used during breastfeeding.
Driving vehicles and using machines:
Apap Forte for children usually does not interfere with the ability to drive or use machines. However, if you experience side effects such as mild drowsiness and dizziness, you should not drive or operate machinery.
Administration method:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Instructions for use:
- Apap Forte for children should be taken orally.
- Shake well before use.
- The cap of the bottle is equipped with a child-proof closure device. To open it, you have to press the cover and turn it clockwise at the same time.
- The oral suspension must not be diluted or mixed with other drinks.
- Do not exceed the established dose. Please note that higher than recommended doses may result in a risk of very serious liver damage.
- The recommended daily dose of paracetamol is approximately 60 mg/kg per day, divided into 4 or 6 daily administrations, i.e. 15 mg/kg at 6-hour intervals or 10 mg/kg at 4-hour intervals.
- The dose must be determined mainly according to the patient's weight. The information regarding the child's age within each weight group is indicative only.

Composition :
- The active substance is paracetamol.
- The other components are:
- citric acid monohydrate, sodium citrate, sugar, methyl parahydroxybenzoate (E218), propyl parahydroxybenzoate (E216), orange flavor [natural flavor substance(s)], artificial flavor substance(s), ethyl alcohol, butylhydroxyanisole (E320)], xanthan gum and purified water.
