Composition:
The aerial parts with young leaves of the basil plant - Ocimum Basilicum.
Active principles:
Basil volatile oil contains linalool, eucalyptol, eugenol, estragole, camphor, anethole, tannins and triterpene saponosides.
Action:
Antiseptic, carminative, galactogogue, antiemetic, diuretic, anti-inflammatory, antifungal, febrifuge.
Recent studies have shown that the composition of basil includes several ketone substances that have a direct action on liver cells. By consuming basil teas and even green or dried basil - as a spice in culinary preparations, the liver cells are stimulated to produce a greater amount of enzymes, thus helping the liver to function better.
Recommendations:
Internal: stimulation of digestion, abdominal flatulence, abdominal colic (bloating, vomiting), aerophagia, anorexia, gastric or duodenal ulcer, fermentation colitis, diarrhea, flu, colds, bronchitis, headache, urinary infections.
Administration method:
Internally: infusion - pour 250 ml of boiling water over a teaspoon of the plant. The dish is covered and left to rest for 10-15 minutes, after which it is strained. Drink warm and unsweetened, 3 cups of tea a day, between main meals.
Contraindications: in people with particular allergic sensitivity, it can produce allergic reactions of varying intensity. It will not be administered to children under 3 years of age and pregnant women (may cause vomiting). Avoid overdose.
