Biofen, 200 mg, 10 soft capsules, Biofarm

Indications:
BIOFEN 200mg is used to relieve pain of mild to moderate intensity: headaches including migraine type, back pain, muscle pain, toothache, joint pain, menstrual pain. It can also be used in case of fever associated with cold or flu.

Contraindications:
Do not use BIOFEN 200mg:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to ibuprofen, to other non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs or to any of the other components of BIOFEN 200 mg.

Precautions:
Before using BIOFEN 200mg, consult your doctor or pharmacist.

Pregnancy, breast-feeding and fertility:
If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Task:
Do not take this medicine during the last three months of pregnancy. Avoid using this medicine during the first 6 months of pregnancy, unless your doctor tells you otherwise.

Breastfeeding:
This medicine passes into breast milk, but can be used during breastfeeding if taken in the recommended dose and for the shortest possible period.

Fertility:
This medicine belongs to a group of medicines (NSAIDs) that can affect fertility in women. This effect is reversible upon discontinuation of the drug.

Driving vehicles and using machines:
This medicine has no or negligible effect on the ability to drive and use machines, if used in the short term and in the recommended doses. If side effects such as fatigue and dizziness occur, do not drive or operate machinery.
Drinking alcohol increases the risk of these side effects.

Administration method:
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Unless your doctor recommends other doses, the usual standard doses are:

Adults and children over 12 years of age:
The usual dose is one BIOFEN 200mg soft capsule (200mg ibuprofen), administered at intervals of 4-6 hours. If the pain or fever does not improve, 2 soft capsules BIOFEN 200mg (400 mg ibuprofen) can be administered, without exceeding, however, 6 soft capsules BIOFEN 200mg (1200 mg ibuprofen) in 24 hours.
BIOFEN 200mg soft capsules are swallowed whole, with a glass of water, preferably after a meal.

Children under the age of 12:
BIOFEN 200mg is contraindicated in children under 12 years of age.

Elderly patients:
It is not necessary to decrease the doses, unless there is renal or hepatic insufficiency; in this case, the doses must be determined by the doctor for each individual patient.

You must stop treatment with BIOFEN 200mg if:
- the fever continues to increase or persists for more than 3 days;
- the pain worsens or lasts more than 5 days.
If you have the impression that the effect of BIOFEN 200mg is too strong or too weak, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Composition:
- The active substance is ibuprofen 200 mg.
- The other components are: sodium hydroxide (E524), purified water, macrogol 400, gelatin (E441), partially dehydrated liquid sorbitol (E420), twilight yellow dye FCF (E110).
