QUALITATIVE AND QUANTITATIVE COMPOSITION

One gram of gel contains diclofenac sodium 50 mg. Excipients with known effect: propylene glycol 50 mg per gram of gel, benzyl alcohol 10 mg per gram of gel and ethanol 48 mg per gram of gel.

PHARMACEUTICAL FORM

Colorless to slightly pink, homogeneous gel.

Therapeutic indications

Local treatment in adults, symptomatic, of pain and inflammation: - muscular or osteoarticular of rheumatic origin; - in the case of post-operative and post-traumatic edemas (eg sprains); - muscular or osteoarticular of a traumatic nature (slight injuries of tendons, muscles, ligaments, etc.).

Doses and method of administration

Adults: Clafen Forte is administered 3-4 times a day on the affected area.

The dose administered at each application varies depending on the surface of the affected area, being approximately 2 - 4 g of gel (corresponding to approximately 5 - 10 cm of gel). In order to absorb the gel, a light and prolonged massage is performed on the painful and/or inflamed area.

After each application, wash hands with soap and water. Except for some strictly recommended cases, in the case of soft tissue trauma or abarticular rheumatism, the gel should not be used for more than 14 days, and in the case of arthritis pain, for a period longer than 28 days.

If after 5 days of treatment the symptoms do not improve or they worsen, the patient must see a doctor who will reevaluate the treatment.

Children and adolescents: Clafen Forte is not recommended for use in children and adolescents, due to the lack of data on safety and efficacy.
