Diatomaceous earth, often referred to as diatomaceous earth, is a naturally occurring mineral rock. Diatomite consists of fossilized shells of unicellular algae - diatoms ( Melosira preicelanica ). The soft sedimentary rock thus formed contains mainly amorphous silica ( _SiO2 ) with a mixture of crystalline silica.

This allows you to extract individual fractions of diatoms without damaging their valuable shells. This process takes 3 to 5 weeks.
