Glutathione (γ-L-glutamyl-L-cysteinylglycine) is a tripeptide composed of the amino acids cysteine, glycine and glutamic acid.
Glutathione is used by all body cells, being one of the main antioxidants in the body, which prevents the increase in the number of free radicals and the installation of oxidative stress.

From a chemical point of view, the human body is made up of molecules surrounded by an even number of electrons in the outer orbital. When the number of electrons in the orbital of a molecule becomes odd, it is called a free radical.
