Gripoff Max is part of the group of drugs called analgesics - antipyretics.
Therapeutic indications
Gripoff Max is a medicine against cold and flu, which contains three active substances:
• paracetamol, which relieves pain and reduces temperature when you have a fever;
• chlorphenamine maleate, which reduces nasal congestion, watery eyes, often associated with pain and temperature, and acts on sneezing-type phenomena;
• vitamin C (ascorbic acid) that will help you replace vitamin C that can be lost in the early stages
from colds and flu, as well as increasing the body's natural defense capacity, contributing to
faster recovery of the body.
Gripoff Max is a remedy used for short-term symptomatic relief of flu conditions
fevers, chills and common colds, including headache, sore throat, discomfort and pain,
nasal congestion, sinusitis, as well as pain and acute nasal catarrh associated with it.
The medicine is intended for use by adults and adolescents older than 15 years.
Treatment with antibiotics may be necessary in case of bacterial infections.
Do not use Gripoff Max if:
- you are allergic (hypersensitivity) to paracetamol, phenacetin or other anti-inflammatories, pheniramine
or other antihistamines or to any of the components of this medicine (listed at
point 6);
- take other medicines containing paracetamol;
- you have high blood pressure (hypertension);
- you have an overactive thyroid (hyperthyroidism);
- suffer from a heart disease;
- Do you have diabetes;
- you have a deficit of glucose-6-phosphate-dehydrogenase;
- suffer from serious kidney damage (the risk of unwanted effects on the kidneys can be increased
in the case of prolonged administration of large doses);
- you have urethro-prostatic disorders with a risk of urinary retention;
- suffer from angle-closure glaucoma, family history of angle-closure glaucoma or glaucoma with
open angle;
- suffer from severe liver damage;
- you are on concurrent treatment with non-selective monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs).
(including a period of 14 days after stopping treatment with them) or if you follow a
treatment with beta-blockers (see section Gripoff Max together with other drugs) or with others
sympathomimetic decongestants;
- suffer from kidney stones (large doses - 1 g of ascorbic acid per day, for a long time);
- you have an intolerance to some categories of sugars (contains sugar);
- you are under 15 years old.
Warnings and precautions
Before using Gripoff Max, consult your doctor, pharmacist or nurse
medical.
Do not exceed the indicated doses and consult the doctor if this happened accidentally.
If allergic reactions occur, the treatment will be stopped immediately.
Do not use Gripoff Max:
- simultaneously with other medicines (see the section Gripoff Max together with other medicines);
- if you suffer from kidney diseases, without having the doctor's opinion;
- if you suffer from diabetes, intolerance to fructose, glucose or malabsorption of galactose, deficiency of
sucrase-isomaltase (a rare genetic disease), due to the sugar content;
- if you are an elderly person or a hypertensive person, caution is recommended when administering,
because they can present orthostatic hypertension, vertigo, strong sedation, or constipation
chronicle.
Keep Gripoff Max out of the reach and sight of children.
Please ask your doctor if you are or have been in one of these situations.
Gripoff Max together with other medicines
Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are using, have recently used or might use
use any other medicines.
Do not use Gripoff Max simultaneously with another medicine containing paracetamol.
Do not combine Gripoff Max with other medicines, such as:
- tricyclic antidepressant drugs used to treat depression (such as amitriptyline,
amoxapine, clomipramine, desipramine and doxepin);
- monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), used in the treatment of depression and Parkinson's disease. Not
use Gripoff Max if you are taking or have taken MAOIs in the last 14 days;
- medicines used to treat high blood pressure, such as beta-blockers;
- medicines used to treat heart failure or abnormal heart rhythm (digoxin or
other cardiac glycosides);
- drugs that induce liver enzymes, for example certain hypnotics and drugs
antiepileptics (including glutethimide, phenobarbital, phenytoin, carbamazepine) and rifampicin
(used in the treatment of tuberculosis); the same is valid for the abuse of ethyl alcohol;
- drugs that slow down gastric emptying (eg propantheline);
- drugs that block or stimulate the feeling of hunger;
- cholestyramine (bile acid fixing resin used to treat high cholesterol levels
from blood);
- metoclopramide (used in the treatment of gastrointestinal disorders);
- domperidone (used to relieve the symptoms of nausea and vomiting);
- non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (mainly acetylsalicylic acid);
- oral contraceptives;
- zidovudine (used in the treatment of HIV infections);
- isoniazid (used for the treatment of tuberculosis);
- probenecid (used in the treatment of gout);
- warfarin or coumarin derivatives (medicines called anticoagulants that are used to
thins the blood);
- lamotrigine, valproic acid (medicines used in the treatment of epilepsy);
- chloramphenicol (an antibiotic);
- barbiturates (medicines that make you feel drowsy);
- antihistamines (medicines used in allergies);
- thyroxine (a thyroid hormone);
- benzodiazepines (medicines with sedative effects, which induce sleep and/or muscle relaxants);
- cimetidine (used in the treatment of gastrointestinal problems);
- disulfiram (medicine used to treat alcoholism);
- ephedrine (medicine used for the treatment of low blood pressure, shock
or asthma);
- enoxacin (antibiotic used to treat certain infections);
- ciprofloxacin and norfloxacin (antibiotics used to treat certain infections);
- ergotamine (used in the treatment of migraines);
- medicines containing aluminum;
- deferoxamine (specific antidote used in acute iron poisoning).
To avoid potential interactions between different medicines, you must inform the doctor
you or the pharmacist if you have used or are using other medicines.
Interaction with laboratory tests
If you are going to do certain laboratory investigations, tell the doctor that you are using Gripoff Max.
This medicine may interfere with the results of the test performed to determine the level of uric acid in the blood, especially in patients who suffer from or are diagnosed with gout.
Chlorphenamine can inhibit the response to skin hypersensitivity tests, thus inducing false-negative results, therefore it is advisable to stop the administration of chlorphenamine at least 72 hours before performing skin tests that use allergenic extracts.
Gripoff Max together with food, drinks and alcohol
Do not consume alcohol, medicines or foods containing alcohol during treatment with Gripoff Max.
Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you might be pregnant or intend to become pregnant,
ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations before taking this medicine.

Due to the absence of animal and human studies, the risk is unknown. Consequently, as a measure
as a precaution, this medicine should not be administered during pregnancy or breastfeeding.

Driving vehicles and using machines
Because of the adverse reactions it has (for example: drowsiness, sedation, confusional state, dizziness, visual accommodation disorders, etc.), the product may affect the ability to drive vehicles or use machinery.
Important information regarding some components of Gripoff Max
Gripoff Max contains sugar
This should be taken into account in patients with diabetes.
If your doctor warns you that you have an intolerance to some categories of sugars, you will
please ask him before using this medicine.
Gripoff Max contains aspartame (E951)
Aspartame is a source of phenylalanine and can be harmful to patients who have a named condition
"phenylketonuria".
How to use Gripoff Max
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Adults and adolescents (over 15 years old)
Dosage
The usual dose is one Gripoff Max envelope (contains 1 g of paracetamol and the components stated in point 6 at intervals of 4 to 6 hours, as will be necessary to relieve the symptoms, without exceeding a
5 maximum dose of 4 Gripoff Max envelopes in 24 hours.
Administration method
For oral administration.
Dissolve the contents of a Gripoff Max sachet in a cup of hot water (approximately 200 ml). Mix well until you get a lemon-flavored drink and drink it while it's warm, within 30 minutes of preparation.
Do not dissolve or administer more than one sachet at a time (as a single dose).
For the treatment of flu conditions, it is preferable to take this medicine with warm water, in the evening, from the moment the first symptoms appear.
Duration of treatment
Gripoff Max should not be used for more than 5 days without a doctor's recommendation.
Children (under the age of 15)
Gripoff Max is not recommended for children under 15 years of age.
Elderly patients
It is not necessary to adjust the doses in elderly patients.
Patients with chronic alcoholism
Chronic alcohol consumption can increase the risk of paracetamol toxicity. Duration between
administration of two doses must be at least 8 hours apart. Do not exceed the dose of 2 g of paracetamol per day.
Patients with impaired kidney function or liver function
In patients with impaired kidney or liver function or with Gilbert's syndrome, the dose should be reduced or
the interval between doses should be extended. In patients with severely impaired kidney function,
the interval between doses must be at least 8 hours. Ask your doctor for advice
you or the pharmacist.
Inform your doctor or pharmacist if the condition continues even after 5 days of treatment.
Your doctor will inform you how long the treatment with Gripoff Max will last.
If you have the impression that the effect produced by Gripoff Max is too strong or too weak, ask the doctor
you or the pharmacist.
If you use more Gripoff Max than you should
Seek medical advice immediately and explain to the doctor exactly how much you have taken.
Your doctor will advise you what to do.
It is important to tell the doctor, even if you feel well. If a person has taken too much Gripoff Max, respectively too much paracetamol, there is a serious risk of damage to the liver due to the delay in the effect of the treatment.
In case of overdose, immediate medical treatment is required. Symptoms of paracetamol overdose may include liver, gastrointestinal disorders, allergic reactions, headaches, restlessness, palpitations and increased blood pressure.
If you forget to use Gripoff Max
Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Take the next dose when you remember and continue the treatment, but keep an administration interval of at least 4 hours between doses. Do not exceed the maximum dose of 4 sachets in 24 hours.
If you have any additional questions about this medicine, ask your doctor
you, the pharmacist or the nurse.
How to store Gripoff Max:
This medicine does not require any special storage conditions.
Do not leave this medicine in the sight and reach of children.
Do not use this medicine after the expiry date written on the envelope and on the box after Exp.
The expiration date refers to the last day of the respective month.
Do not throw any medicine into water or household waste. Ask the pharmacist how to
throw away the medicines you no longer use. These measures will help to protect the environment.
