What is iodine?

Iodine is a type of mineral that can be found naturally in soil, ocean and seawater, as well as in living organisms such as algae and crustaceans. Its main source is iodine-rich oil shale - a type of rock that weathers and releases iodine into seawater.

Iodine is an essential mineral, which means our body needs it to function properly. Unfortunately, people cannot produce iodine on their own in the body, so this element must be consumed with the diet or in the form of supplements, for example, as potassium iodide.

Why do we need iodine?

Iodine is important, among other things: for the functioning of the thyroid gland. The thyroid is a butterfly-shaped organ located in the lower part of the neck. It produces hormones that regulate body functions such as metabolism, meaning the metabolism in the body's tissues and organs.

The adequate amount of iodine in the body affects:

• Correct production of thyroid hormones • Thyroid function • Energy metabolism • Maintenance of cognitive functions • Functioning of the nervous system • Maintenance of healthy skin

Daily serving: 1 capsule once a day. Swallow the capsule and drink plenty of water after a meal.

Ingredients: bulking agent: microcrystalline cellulose, potassium iodide (iodine). Capsule composition: vegetable (vegetarian) cellulose.

Precautions: Do not exceed the recommended daily dose. A food supplement cannot be used as a substitute for a varied diet and a healthy lifestyle. Store in a dry and dark place at room temperature, out of the reach of small children.
