Loratadine Slavia belongs to a class of medicines known as antihistamines.

Antihistamines help reduce allergy symptoms by blocking the effects of a substance called histamine, which is produced in our bodies.

Loratadine Slavia relieves symptoms associated with allergic rhinitis (for example: hay fever), such as: sneezing, abundant nasal secretion or itching in the nose, stinging or itching in the eyes.

Loratadine Slavia can also be used to reduce the symptoms of hives (itching, redness, and the number and size of skin rashes).

The improvement in these symptoms lasts throughout the day and helps you resume your normal daily activities and sleep.

Composition:

• The active substance is loratadine.
• One tablet contains 10 mg of loratadine.

Method of administration:

• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
• Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
• The tablets are taken with a glass of water, regardless of mealtimes.
• Adults and children over 12 years of age: take 1 tablet of Loratadine Slavia once a day.

In children aged 2-12 years: dosage is based on body weight:

• body weight over 30 kg: 1 tablet Loratadine Slavia once a day
• body weight less than 30 kg: Loratadine Slavia 10 mg tablets are not recommended.

The tablet dosage form is not recommended for children aged 2 to 6 years due to the risk of choking. There are suitable dosage forms for this age group.

Contraindications:

Do not use Loratadine Slavia if you are allergic to loratadine or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.

Precautions:

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before taking Loratadine Slavia, especially if:

• you suffer from liver disease.
• If you are scheduled to have any skin tests for allergies, you should stop taking Loratadine Slavia two days before these tests, as the medicine could affect the test results.

Children:

• Do not use Loratadine Slavia in children under 2 years of age or in children between 2 and 12 years of age with a body weight of less than 30 kg.
• For children aged 2 to 12 years and weighing less than 30 kg, there are other more suitable pharmaceutical forms.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding:

• If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
• If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, taking Loratadine Slavia is not recommended.
• Loratadine is excreted in breast milk.

Driving and using machines:

• At the recommended dose, Loratadine is unlikely to cause drowsiness or reduce reaction time.
• However, very rarely, some people may experience drowsiness, which could affect their ability to drive or use machines.
