LEK-AM Melatonin 1 mg is a non-prescription medicine containing synthetic melatonin, a hormone produced naturally by the pineal gland in the brain. Melatonin plays a key role in regulating the biological circadian rhythm, controlling the hours of sleep and wakefulness during the day. Endogenous melatonin has a characteristic circadian rhythm of synthesis and secretion, characterized by low concentrations of this hormone during the day and the highest values at night.
LEK-AM melatonin supports the treatment of sleep rhythm disorders, has a positive effect on the falling asleep process, regulates sleep phases and its duration. The indications for using Melatonin LEK-AM are:
- sleep disorders related to the sleep-wake cycle, such as sleep disorders related to changing time zones or shift work,
- circadian rhythm disorders in blind patients.
Melatonin LEK-AM 1 mg is a Polish product. It is available in a pack containing 90 white, round tablets with a dose of 1 mg.
