Description
Melatonin LEK-AM 5 mg supports the treatment of sleep rhythm disorders and has a beneficial effect on the process of falling asleep, regulating sleep phases. The active substance of the drug Melatonin LEK-AM is synthetic melatonin, a hormone produced naturally by the pineal gland in the brain. Melatonin plays a key role in regulating the biological circadian rhythm, controlling the hours of sleep and wakefulness during the day. Endogenous melatonin has a characteristic circadian rhythm of synthesis and secretion, characterized by low concentrations of this hormone during the day and the highest values at night.
The indications for using Melatonin LEK-AM are:
- sleep disorders related to the sleep-wake cycle, such as sleep disorders related to changing time zones or shift work,
- circadian rhythm disorders in blind patients.
Melatonin LEK-AM 5 mg is a Polish product, available without a medical prescription. The package of the drug contains 30 white, round tablets with a dose of 5 mg.
