Description
A protein-rich food for special medical purposes, consisting of undenatured whey proteins with high biological value (DIF16WPI), indicated for the dietary management of subjects with loss of skeletal muscle mass (sarcopenia) due to protein malnutrition, aging and/or chronic diseases. Sarcopenia requires the intake of large amounts of protein, but the conditions in which it occurs are accompanied by loss of appetite, feeding difficulties and/or malnutrition. Whey protein isolate is particularly suitable in this context due to its high concentration (≥ 92.5%), the high biological value of the proteins it provides and their digestibility, which optimizes absorption, thus promoting an increased protein intake. Undenatured proteins represent a concentrated source of bioavailable cysteine, a precursor and nutrient that conditions the synthesis of glutathione, the cellular concentration of which is reduced in conditions of protein deficiency. Since glutathione is involved in protein synthesis, an increased intake of its precursor is particularly appropriate in the dietary management of sarcopenia. PROther is indicated for oral and enteral nutrition with SNG and/or PEG for patients with chewing and swallowing problems.

How to use
It is recommended to take 1 or 2 sachets per day. Given its solubility, enteral administration via SNG and/or PEG is allowed. One to two sachets of PROther diluted in 500-1000 ml of water are recommended, depending on the patient's water and protein needs. The dose can be administered alone or in combination with other foods suitable for enteral administration, as determined by the physician.
For oral administration, pour 1 or 2 sachets of PROther into a glass. Add 150–200 ml of water or any other beverage (milk, tea), provided it is cold or at room temperature. Stir briefly (do not use a blender) and drink immediately.

Use Prother under medical supervision. The product should not be used as the sole source of nutrition.

Conservation
Store in a cool, dry place. The expiration date applies to the product in its original packaging and properly stored.
