Visine Novo 0.5 mg/ml eye drops solution, 15 ml, McNeil Healthcare

The solution contains the active substance called tetryzoline hydrochloride.

It belongs to the group of medicines called ophthalmic decongestants (ocular medicines).

Visine Novo is used to treat temporary redness of the eyes caused by minor non-infectious irritations such as smoke, dust, wind, chlorinated water, light or allergies, in adults, adolescents and children aged 2 years and over (see section 2).

Children aged over 2 years and under 6 years should only be treated with Visine Novo on the recommendation of a doctor.

How to use:

• Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, ask your doctor or pharmacist
• Children aged 6 years and over, adolescents and adults: The recommended dose is 1-2 drops in the affected eye(s), 2-3 times a day, unless otherwise advised by your doctor. Remove contact lenses beforehand
• Children aged 2 to 6 years: Visine Novo should only be used on the recommendation of a healthcare professional
• Children under 2 years: Visine Novo is contraindicated in this age group.

Warnings and Precautions:

Do not give the medicine

• If you are allergic (hypersensitive) to tetryzoline hydrochloride or any of the other ingredients of this medicine (listed in section 6)
• If you suffer from narrow-angle glaucoma
• In children under 2 years
• If any of the conditions listed below apply to you, talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Visine Novo.

You may still be able to use Visine Novo, but you should talk to your doctor if:

• you have a serious heart condition (e.g. coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, pheochromocytoma)
• you have benign prostatic hyperplasia
• you have metabolic disorders (e.g. hyperthyroidism, diabetes, disorders of haemoglobin formation)
• you have rhinitis sicca (chronic inflammation of the front of the nose)
• you have keratoconjunctivitis sicca (dryness of the conjunctiva or cornea)
• you have glaucoma (an eye condition in which the optic nerve, which connects the eye to the brain, is damaged).
