Spersallerg solution, 10 ml, Novartis

Indications:
Decongestant and antiallergic ophthalmic products; sympathomimetics used as decongestants.
Spersallergest is an ophthalmic solution with decongestant action, used as a symptomatic treatment of conjunctival edema and hyperemia in allergic, non-specific or catarrhal conjunctivitis and minor eye irritations.
Spersallerga improves the burning sensation, irritation, itching, inflammation and excessive tearing.
Spersallergest is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.

Composition:
- The active substances are: 1 ml of ophthalmic solution contains antazoline hydrochloride 0.5 mg and tetrizoline hydrochloride 0.4 mg
- The other ingredients are: benzalkonium chloride, diluted hydrochloric acid, methylhydroxypropylcellulose, sodium chloride, distilled water for injections.

Method of administration:
Adults and children over 2 years:
-the usual dose is one drop instilled into the conjunctival sac 2-3 times a day.
Although there are no studies to demonstrate the efficacy and safety of administering the product to children under 12 years of age, clinical experience has shown that the product can be administered to children > 2 years of age.

Contraindications:
Hypersensitivity to ingredients. Narrow-angle glaucoma.

Precautions:
In children, the dosage must be carefully adjusted to prevent adverse reactions. Patients with contact lenses should only be given Spersallerg when they are not wearing them.

Pregnancy, lactation and fertility:
Since it is not known whether tetrizoline crosses the placental barrier and is excreted in breast milk, SPERSALLERG should only be used during pregnancy and lactation after a risk/benefit assessment and under medical supervision. If you are pregnant or breast-feeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to become pregnant, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

Driving and using machines:
Ophthalmic preparations may cause temporary visual disturbances, negatively influencing the ability to drive or use machines.
The patient should be warned to wait until visual disturbances clear before driving or using machines.
