• Wash the dispenser before first use.
• Fill it with cold water and submerge the Maxtra Pro filter cartridge.
• Shake gently to remove air bubbles inside.
• Remove the filter and pour the water.
• Place the water filter into the opening of the funnel and press until it locks into place.
• Fill the container with cold water.
• The Maxtra Pro water filter is activated during the first two fills. Pour the water from the first two fillings or use it, for example, to water flowers.
• By the third fill, the filtered water is ready for use.
• Before first use, after activating the water filter, remove the protective film from the Brita Memo indicator on the lid.
• Press and hold the "START" button until four bars appear on the display and flash twice. A flashing dot in the lower right corner of the display indicates that the Memo indicator is active.
• If the blank display flashes, the filter must be replaced with a new one.
• If the dispenser will not be used for a long time, pour off the water and remove the filter, then place the filter loosely in the empty funnel.

• Fill the washed pitcher/container with cold water.
• Immerse the cartridge in cold water and shake it gently to remove air bubbles.
• Remove the filter and pour the water.
• Insert the funnel into the dispenser, then press the water filter into the funnel.
• Fill the Brita container with cold water. No water flow through the funnel after filling with water will mean that the filter is not pressed down enough. In this case, press the top filter harder.
• Filter and discard the water from the first two fillings.
• By the third fill, the water is ready for use.
