Canesten Gyn 3 is used to treat vaginal infections.
The most common symptoms of vaginal infections are:
- itching of the vulva and vagina
- redness and swelling of the tissues of the vagina and vulva
- burning sensation in the vagina
- White, odorless vaginal discharge.
The active substance in Canesten Gyn 3 is clotrimazole, which belongs to the group of medicines called imidazole derivatives, which are used to treat fungal infections.
Clotrimazole inhibits the growth and multiplication of fungal cells such as those of mushrooms and certain bacteria.
Method of administration:
This medicine can be used by adult women and adolescents from the age of 16: one vaginal tablet inserted deeply into the vagina in a single dose, in the evening, for 3 consecutive days - see the How to use Caneten Gyn 3 section of the leaflet.
It is not recommended to use Canesten Gyn 3 during the menstrual period. The treatment should be completed before the start of menstruation. If you are pregnant, the tablets can be used but without using the applicator provided in the package.
If your sexual partner has symptoms of a yeast infection, they should be treated at the same time - ask your doctor or pharmacist for recommendations.
This medicine is administered according to the package leaflet and according to the recommendations of the doctor and pharmacist.
Active ingredients: Each tablet contains clotrimazole 200 mg.

Precautions:
Do not use Canesten Gyn 3 if you are allergic to clotrimazole or any of the other ingredients of this medicine.
Before using Canesten Gyn 3, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you have:
- a vaginal infection for the first time,
- you have had more than two vaginal infections in the last 6 months
- abnormal vaginal bleeding or bloody or abnormal discharge
- pain in the lower abdomen or when urinating,
- fever or chills, nausea or vomiting, diarrhea.
Do not use tampons, vaginal douches, spermicides or other vaginal products at the same time as Canesten 3.
Avoid sexual contact while using this medicine as the infection may be passed on to your sexual partner. The effectiveness of latex contraceptive products, such as condoms and diaphragms, may be reduced while using Canesten Gyn 3.
The effectiveness of vaginal spermicides may also be reduced. It is recommended to use other contraceptive measures during treatment and for 5 days after stopping it.
As a precautionary measure, the use of clotrimazole should be avoided during the first three months of pregnancy. The use of Canesten Gyn 3 is not recommended during breast-feeding.
