Description Meclon
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.be team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Meclon is a cosmetic emulgel designed for the care of the female intimate area, formulated to soothe, protect and moisturise the vulvar mucosa and skin in situations of discomfort associated with irritation, chafing or age-related physiological changes. Meclon is suitable for women of childbearing age, premenopausal women (aged 45–55) and postmenopausal women (over 55), and is designed as an adjunct in all conditions characterised by irritation, a burning sensation, dryness or vulvar itching.
Forms of supply
Meclon is available as an emulgel, packaged in 50 ml tubes or 5 ml single-dose sachets. Its texture is light, non-greasy and rapidly absorbed, allowing for easy and comfortable application without leaving any residue or a feeling of occlusion.
Indications for use
Meclon is indicated as an adjunct in:
- vulvar irritation associated with mechanical friction (underwear, sanitary towels, tight clothing);
- vulvar dryness during the fertile period, pre-menopause or post-menopause;
- sensations of burning, itching or local discomfort;
- imbalances in the vulvar skin barrier caused by external irritants.
Melatonin and extracts of calendula and propolis help to soothe irritation, whilst hyaluronic acid (sodium hyaluronate) promotes hydration of the mucous membrane.
Dosage regimen
It is recommended to wash your hands thoroughly before application. The product should be used after daily intimate hygiene.
Apply a thin layer of emulgel to the affected area twice daily, in the morning and in the evening. In cases of severe discomfort, the frequency may be increased to 3–4 applications per day, depending on individual needs.
Contraindications
Meclon is contraindicated in cases of known hypersensitivity to any of the components of the formulation, including propolis or other plant extracts.
Do not use if the packaging is damaged or if the product has changed in appearance. For external use only; avoid accidental ingestion.
Special instructions for use
At the start of use or in individuals with high sensitivity, temporary sensations of warmth or a slight burning sensation may occur. These symptoms are generally self-limiting.
In the event of a persistent burning sensation or worsening of symptoms, it is recommended to discontinue use and consult a doctor.
During pregnancy, use should be preceded by a doctor’s recommendation, given the increased sensitivity of the vulvar mucosa at this stage.
Side effects
Meclon has a good tolerability profile, confirmed by dermatological and ophthalmological tests. Adverse effects are rare and may include:
- a temporary burning sensation;
- mild local redness;
- hypersensitivity reactions to the plant-based ingredients.
In the event of an allergic reaction (severe itching, swelling, rash), discontinue use immediately.
Interactions with other medicines and food
As a cosmetic product for external topical use, Meclon Lenex has no known systemic interactions with medicines or food.
It may be used in conjunction with systemic gynaecological treatments; however, if other topical products are applied to the intimate area, it is recommended to leave a time interval between applications to avoid dilution or alteration of local absorption.
No dietary restrictions are necessary during the period of use.
Overdose
Given the topical route of administration and minimal systemic absorption, the risk of overdose is negligible.
Applying too much may cause a temporary sensation of local discomfort or skin tightness, without any systemic effects. In the event of accidental ingestion, it is recommended that you seek medical advice.
Storage conditions
The product must be stored in a cool, dry place, away from direct light and heat sources, at a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.
Keep out of reach of children. The product is valid for 3 months after opening.
