Description
- Psyllium is the common name used to describe several members of the Plantago plant family, whose seeds are used for many purposes.
- Psyllium is a soluble fiber derived from the seeds of the Plantago ovala plant, a plant grown mainly in India.
- Psyllium is used as a dietary supplement and is usually found in the form of husks (creeps), granules, capsules or powder.
- However, you can also consume psyllium fiber through fortified breakfast cereals and baked goods.
- Psyllium bran contains soluble and insoluble dietary fiber, mucilage and oils.
- They have a purifying, emollient and calming effect, also constituting a dressing of the intestinal mucosa.
- Psyllium husks stimulate and normalize intestinal transit and slow down the absorption of sugar into the blood.

Administration
The recommended daily amount is one teaspoon in 250ml of water or even more.
It should be noted that Psyllium Husks absorb a large amount of liquid, so they can lead to dehydration if not accompanied by plenty of water.
They can be added to fruit juices, milk, soups or yogurt, they can also be used in the preparation of biscuits, breadsticks or certain breads.
Store in cool, dry places, away from light and solar heat.
