Vironal
Description Vironal
The information in the FAQ section was created by the Liki24.be team and is based on the official manufacturer's manual
Vironal is a complex phytotherapeutic preparation, designed to support the optimal functioning of the immune system and help maintain the body’s overall balance, particularly in the context of acute and chronic infections. Vironal belongs to the Energy Group range and is distinguished by a formula rich in plant extracts with immunomodulatory, antiviral, antibacterial and detoxifying properties, being used both for preventive purposes and as an adjunct in various infectious and inflammatory conditions.
Forms of supply
Vironal Energy is available as an oral solution in drops, packaged in a 30 ml bottle. This pharmaceutical form allows for flexible administration, tailored to age and individual needs, as well as effective absorption of the active ingredients.
The solution must be shaken vigorously before use, approximately 21 times, to activate the preparation’s composition.
Indications for use
Vironal is recommended as a phytotherapeutic supplement in a wide range of clinical contexts, thanks to the broad spectrum of action of its natural ingredients.
The product may help to boost general immunity and is particularly recommended for respiratory viral infections, flu, sinusitis, feverish conditions, pneumonia, recurrent or chronic respiratory infections, as well as for intestinal dysbiosis and chronic constipation.
Vironal can also be used as an adjunct in liver infections, intestinal parasitic infections, fungal skin infections or furunculosis, and as an immunostimulant in cases of chronic respiratory or digestive infections.
Dosage regimen
The drops should be diluted in a small amount of water and administered approximately 30 minutes before or after meals.
- For children under 6 years of age, the recommended dose is 1–4 drops, taken 1–3 times a day.
- For adults and children over 6 years of age, the usual dose is 4–9 drops, 1 to 3 times a day.
Contraindications
Vironal is contraindicated during pregnancy and breastfeeding, due to a lack of sufficient data on the safety of use during these periods.
People with known hypersensitivity to any of the product’s components should avoid taking it.
Special considerations
In cases of severe chronic illness, it is recommended to start treatment with lower doses, followed by a gradual increase up to the maximum tolerated dose. After a 3-week period of continuous use, a 7-day break is recommended, after which treatment may be resumed.
Vironal can be used in repeated courses, observing the recommended breaks, as it is considered a natural immunostimulant, particularly useful during periods with a higher incidence of respiratory infections.
Side effects
In general, Vironal is well tolerated when administered as directed. However, in the event of an overdose, adverse reactions such as migraine, dizziness, diarrhoea, nausea or vomiting may occur.
The onset of unusual reactions requires discontinuation of treatment and consultation with a doctor.
Interactions with other medicines and food
Vironal may interact with anticoagulant medicines, potentially increasing the risk of bleeding, which is why it should only be taken in conjunction with medical advice.
An important aspect of taking Vironal is adherence to the associated dietary restrictions. During treatment, it is recommended to avoid consuming coffee, alcohol and mint-based products, as these may inhibit the product’s effectiveness.
The product can, however, be used alongside antibiotic treatments, acting as an adjunct and helping to reduce their side effects.
Overdose
An overdose of Vironal may cause symptoms such as headache, dizziness, digestive problems, nausea or diarrhoea.
In such situations, it is recommended to reduce the dose or stop taking the product and consult a doctor. Adherence to the recommended doses is essential for safe use.
Storage conditions
Vironal must be stored in its original packaging, at room temperature, away from direct light and excessive humidity. The bottle must be closed properly after each use and kept out of the reach of children.
Do not use after the expiry date stated on the packaging.
