The SYPH-Check -1® test is a medical device used to detect IgM and IgG antibodies against Treponema pallidum , the bacteria that cause syphilis. The test can be done at home, using blood from a finger prick , just 2 weeks after a potential infection.
Syphilis, also known as syphilis ( syphilis in Latin), is a dangerous venereal disease. It can remain dormant for many years without causing any symptoms and often leads to many dangerous diseases and complications, such as diseases of the nervous system, damage to the heart, liver, kidneys, muscles and joints. It can also cause mental disorders and blindness. Furthermore, untreated syphilis during pregnancy can lead to birth defects and, in some cases, even fetal death. This infection can only be diagnosed through a blood test.
The SYPH-Check-1 ® LabHome test is a sensitive laboratory test (so-called specific tests ) and detects the disease at various stages of the development of the infection:
- initially (a few weeks after acquiring the infection),
- late (in the latent phase, even after many years).
It is very accurate, its reliability is about 98%. Moreover, performing it and reading the test result is quick and simple - it only takes 10 minutes .
